Now, Yesterday
Nursery Rhyme

Now yesterday I had a fight,
With two black eyes I looked a sight,
So supperless, without a bite,
I had to go to bed last night!
Now you may say that that was right,
Though I don't see it in that light --
I fought 'cos naughty Johnny White
Had giv'n my sister such a fright,
By jumping on her from a height!
But now today the sun shines bright
And yesterday's forgotten quite --
And so I really think I might
Be very good and fly my kite.
With two black eyes I looked a sight,
So supperless, without a bite,
I had to go to bed last night!
Now you may say that that was right,
Though I don't see it in that light --
I fought 'cos naughty Johnny White
Had giv'n my sister such a fright,
By jumping on her from a height!
But now today the sun shines bright
And yesterday's forgotten quite --
And so I really think I might
Be very good and fly my kite.
