Here comes the little sandman,
At the window, he shows his head,
He looks for all the children,
Tucked warm and snug into their beds.
And as each little one he spies,
Sprinkles dust into their eyes.
Sleep on, sleep on!
Sleep on, my little one!
Before the little sandman
Gets too many steps away,
The eyes of all the children
Close tight until the next day.
But they shall open with dawn's light,
To greet the sunshine bright.
Sleep on, sleep on!
Sleep on, my little one!
At the window, he shows his head,
He looks for all the children,
Tucked warm and snug into their beds.
And as each little one he spies,
Sprinkles dust into their eyes.
Sleep on, sleep on!
Sleep on, my little one!
Before the little sandman
Gets too many steps away,
The eyes of all the children
Close tight until the next day.
But they shall open with dawn's light,
To greet the sunshine bright.
Sleep on, sleep on!
Sleep on, my little one!
